In the upside-down world of Jesus' final hours, where wrong was right and right was wrong, He got what He deserved. He had taken the sin of humanity upon Himself and was being treated as if all sin was His. It was. He had made it so! Judas and the Jewish people would also get what they deserved. But we, like Barabbas, don't get what we deserve because in Jesus, we are forgiven and receive the reward for His righteousness.
